Focus Mares AX Tiagra Disc Cyclocross Bike 2016
Getting into cyclocross, or just ensuring you have the sturdiest of commuter bikes, the Focus Mares AX Tiagra Disc Cyclocross Bike 2016 has the answers to so many of your desires.
The geometry has been cleverly thought through to make this bike as equally happy on the race circuit as it is whilst touring or on the road, gravel or country lanes. Therefore it could be your do it all commute, race and touring bike.
This aluminium frame has had a lightweight and stiff Mares CX P2T 10 Carbon T4 fork added. This results in a ride offering direct steering, comfort and pin sharp handling. Mud is this frames friend, as generous tyre clearance has been added to the fork as well as widely spaced, chunky seat stays.
Several features really set this cyclocross bike apart. First is the internal routing of cables and hydraulic lines inside the frame for protection whether you are commuting or racing cyclocross. This prolongs their life and ensures flawless shifting every time. Even more noteworthy though is the Rapid Axle Technology (RAT), which gives the excellent strength and lateral stiffness of thru axles with the fastest wheel-change system ever. Time saved changing a wheel in a race or to repair a puncture during your commute is highly valuable.
Focus have provided the high quality finishing kit for the saddle, seat post, stem and handlebars. This is exceeded though by the reliable Shimano Tiagra components. These give you excellent ten speed shifting that is fast, precise and highly durable. The bike is fantastically completed with Concept EX hubs with DT Swiss R522 rims that are fitted with the striking looking Schwalbe Rocket Ron Focus Edition 622 X 33 tyres. Together they create a highly reliable, fast and exciting set of wheels.

Technical Specification
Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. Visit our Bike Assembly page to see how you assemble your new bike once you receive it.
All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
