Proving their worth, Trek have developed and honed their Emonda SLR 8 Disc Road Bike 2018 with the attitude of "when there is a will, there is a way". The challenge was to take their world-renowned, lightest and most responsive frame, and make it lighter. Not only did Trek reduce the weight of their high-performance machine, they combined it with reliable disc brakes. This ensures the bike has incredible stopping credentials.

Improving the ride quality of its predecessor, the Trek Emonda SLR 8 Disc has been redesigned from the ground up, with a weight reducing design and cutting-edge technology. What makes this bike revolutionary within the industry is its proprietary 700 Series OCLV Carbon fibre construction, making this bike 5% lighter than previous models. Incredibly stiff and ultralight the 700 OCLV Carbon is said to be the strongest on the market, offering a frame with incredible reliability, speed and power. Layered in series of plies and compacted with the perfect resin to fibre ratio, Trek's carbon specialists mould this versatile material into their Emonda frame. Optimised tubing, such as the beefy downtube, dampens road buzz effectively, whilst providing a rigid base for high power outputs.

An H2 geometry provides an aggressive riding posture, the optimal position for fast accelerations. Combine this riding position with shorter chainstays, and the overall result is an agile frame that manoeuvres corners with impressive speed and precision.

Opening you up to a world of gravel riding, the full carbon fork provides a larger clearance that not only accommodates wider tyres, but meets the demands of off tarmac adventures. Greater clearances that allow you to run wider tyres allow for improved ride quality, meaning you can switch between more aggressive gravel tyres or slick racing tyres.

Taking advantage of the stiff and robust quality of these forks, Trek have equipped this bike with cutting-edge Shimano Dura-Ace disc brakes. Keeping it light, these hydraulic brakes feature a disc specifically designed to meet the demands of high-speed road riding. A large faceted rotor dissipates heat buildup for greater stopping power, whilst still remaining lightweight. With improved modulation, this hydraulic addition provides exceptional precision braking on hair-raising descents.

Supporting the power outputs, and braking forces of this one of a kind bike, are the Bontrager Aeolus Pro 3 wheels. Produced from the same rigid carbon as the Emonda frame, these wheels offer excellent rolling efficiency with greater lateral stiffness and durability.

Accelerating fast and offering smooth gear changes, this bike sports a full Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 groupset.
