Specialized S-Works SL4 eTap Womens Road Bike 2017
Sitting at the top of the pecking order, and highly-respected by the likes of Lizzie Armitstead and the team at Boels-Dormans, the Specialized S-Works Amira SL4 eTap Womens Road Bike 2017 is one of the most performance-driven bikes on the Specialized roster. It combines Specialized’s highest-quality carbon layup, the beautifully constructed FACT 11r carbon fibre frame and SRAM eTap gearing, which provides split-second, precise shifting that’s not just smooth, but incredibly reliable. These features, plus many others, make it many riders’ ultimate dream machine.
Upgrading from the rest of the range, the FACT 11r carbon frame is Specialized’s lightest, strongest and most efficient frame they’ve ever produced. It stays stiff when sprinting out of the saddle, climbing long, harsh gradients and cornering at high speeds, giving the rider a more efficient base to lay their power into. It features internal cable routing, an oversized bottom bracket and Specialized’s Women’s Competitive Geometry.
Specialized’s Women’s Competitive Geometry has been specifically developed to enable the most comfortable and performance-driven position possible, giving you that extra boost on those long climbs or enabling you to get down on the drops on technical descents.
Away from the frame, the FACT carbon fork offers great handling precision, whilst absorbing road chatter and vibrations for a much more comfortable ride. The Women’s specific Specialized SL Carbon Shallow Drop Handlebar and S-Works SL Stem enhance this by giving the perfect ratio of leverage to stiffness when sprinting on the drops, meaning it doesn’t matter if you’re cornering tight, hairpin bends or maneuvering through the peloton, your steering will take you where you want to go.
Electronic gearing has come on leaps and bounds in the past few years, but none more so than SRAM Red eTap wireless system. This drivetrain offers incredibly fast, smooth-shifting that never skips a beat. eTap has one of the most intuitive shifting systems ever created, with each lever either shifting up or down and not both. The right lever shifts up and the left, down, while pressing both levers at the same time shifts the front derailleur. This system makes accidental shifting a thing of the past.
An effortless and instant shift is made possible with the RED eTap rear derailleur. The mechanical properties such as the carbon pulley cage, ceramic pulley bearing and high polish alloy, blend perfectly with the proprietary electronic system. At just 215 grams, without the battery, this derailleur still maintains a very slim profile and the medium cage fits a 28t maximum sprocket.
The front derailleur continues the lightweight theme, at just 163 grams without the battery. Working seamlessly with the wireless protocol, this derailleur utilises SRAM's cutting-edge YAW technology that makes automatic adjustments throughout the gear range without the need for a rider's input.
SRAM Red 22 takes control of the braking on this bike, and for good reason. The AeroLink™ arm amplifies braking power while reducing frontal area, giving a reduced level of drag for a more aerodynamic performance, whilst still giving a wider clearance for larger tyres. This makes it perfect for those wet, cold days on the bike when you need a wider tyre.
Finished with a perfect all-round race wheelset that’s proven by multiple Grand Tour wins, the Roval CLX 40’s are aerodynamically optimised to slice through the wind without affecting the stiffness or lightweight nature needed to enhance performance. Construction from carbon fibre, these wheels weigh an astonishing 763g (rear) and 612g (front).

Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
