Comprised of all the high-performance and versatile components you need to conquer any terrain, the Specialized Crux Elite X1 Cyclocross Bike 2017 features the same world-championship winning geometry as its S-Works cousin. From responsive handling to punchy acceleration when you need it most, this bike has it all.

At the heart of the Crux Elite X1 is Specialized’s FACT 10r carbon frame which isn’t just incredibly lightweight, but strong and stiff, too. It remains minimal in weight whilst pounding through the mud or laying down the power on the final straight, but also stays incredibly rigid for a more efficient, faster ride.

With race-winning geometry and components in mind, Specialized knew they had to address the Crux to combat anything and everything that could be thrown at it, and that’s why they’ve internally routed the FACT carbon disc fork to enhance the reliability of the brakes, whilst also using a thru-axle design to increase handling responsiveness and bump absorption, for a more efficient ride.

SRAM Rival hydraulic disc brakes provide ample levels of stopping power and bite when you need it most, no matter what the weather is, whilst the gearing is left to SRAM Rival 11-speed. By using an X1 drivetrain, it eliminates any chain slipping that could potentially ruin your race, and the rear 11-speed derailleur offers a wide range of gearing needed to tackle to slippery slopes and harsh, steep climbs of cyclocross racing.

DT R460 thru-axle wheels, complemented by Specialized Terra Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres, are at the helm of keeping you pinned to the otherwise loose surface. The DT R460 wheels stay strong and enhance handling in rough conditions, whilst the Terra Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres offer ample levels of grip when you need it most. With the capability to go tubeless as and when you need it, you’ll also reduce the likelihood of punctures, making for a more enjoyable ride.

• The carbon frame was constructed from Specialized’s FACT 10r carbon fibre, so it experiences minimal weight gains in comparison to the S-Works version, while retaining all of the rigidity and responsiveness required of cyclocross racing.
