Kinesis Racelight 4S Frameset 2016
The Kinesis Racelight 4S is one of the most versatile framesets on the market, with its 4S name referring to its 4 season capabilities. A frameset that can be used in the winter, as a commuting steed, in spring as a training tool, for summer as a race rig and through autumn as a trusty mile muncher. Featuring a new high quality finish for 2016, with room for mudguards and a rear rack, this results in one amazing, affordable frameset.
Using the popular Racelight Tk3 as its starting point, the 4S uses Kinesium tubing, a 6000 series Aluminium alloy, which is 25% stronger than 6061 at the same weight. Stiffness is catered for with a power bulged headtube and an oversized thin-wall downtube, which is aerodynamic at the top and ovalised where it meets the bottom bracket, delivering a responsive and direct ride.
These performance features are also evident on the oversized chainstays, which minimise power loss and ensure whatever you put through the pedals goes straight into the frame and is not lost on the road.
The Kinesis Racelight 4S Frameset is perfect for racking up the miles on, with comfort provided by anti roadshock bended butted seat stays, hour glass in shape which soften the road buzz and results in a silky smooth ride.
Sharp handling and an unflustered frameset under braking has been achieved with the headset designed specifically to drop into a tapered seat in the head tube. This in turn is tensioned using a headset tensioner within the fork steerer. This process of tensioning the headset centres it on the taper and prevents any play. The larger lower bearing allows a tapered steerer and larger crown.
A Tracer 1.5 monocoque carbon fork has been added as a lightweight, 450-gram addition to the package. Featuring a 1.5'" tapered steerer which allows for precision handling and a direct ride. The fork also boasts clearance for anything up to a 28c tyre. A frameset for all seasons, the Tracer also accommodates long drop brake calipers allowing for full mudguards with plenty of clearance.
