Garmin's Vector pedal system is one of the easiest to use and most affordable and accessible power meters on the market. The Garmin Vector to Vector 2 Upgrade Kit - Standard (12-15mm) allows you to easily upgrade your first-generation Vector pedals to the new best thing; the Vector 2 system.
Vector works by measuring the deflection in the pedal spindle as you pedal. By comparing that measured deflection to a factory calibration, the system can determine how much force you’re applying to the pedal and inform you accordingly with ANT+ connectivity to your bike computer.
The Vector 2 system measures a few hundred times per second and built-in accelerometers also measure your pedalling cadence for an all-encompassing readout both during and post-ride.
The force sensor and related electronics are permanently and securely sealed within the pedal spindle and thus are protected for external forces like humidity and temperature fluctuations.
