The Fizik Arione R3 Braided Saddle is part of the Fizik 3 Spine Concept, which comprises of 3 different types of saddle, each designed specifically to cater for different ranges in spinal flexibility. With the Arione R3 Braided Saddle offering a flat, narrow and long shape, it’s ideally suited for riders with a good level of flexibility, or ‘Snakes’ as Fizik call them.

The shell of the Arione R3 is a Fibreglass Thermoplastic Composite with Wing Flex design, offering the freedom of movement needed when applying the power in the saddle. The Carbon Braided 7 x 9 mm rails provided unparalleled levels of strength and rigidity, combined with the lightweight nature of carbon fibre.

Weighing in at an incredible 165g, this saddle is sure to push your riding performance, and not to mention comfort, to the next level.

To gain the most out of Fizik’s concept, the correct handlebars should be used alongside the saddle. Fizik handlebars are also graded depending on your spine type.

The 3 Spine Concept comprises of:

Snakes: Riders who can reach their toes, with shoulders in a normal position, when bent over. These riders are more flexible and due to this, are named Snakes. A mixture between an Arione saddle and a Snake handlebar is recommended. The saddle is flat and narrow, whilst the handlebar offers 85mm of reach a drop of 140mm.

Chameleons: Riders who have slightly less flexibility than Snakes and can almost reach their toes with straight legs. The Antares saddle is recommended, alongside the Chameleon handlebars. The saddle is flat and wide, whilst the handlebar offers 85mm of reach a drop of 135mm.

Bulls: Riders with limited flexibility, or a rigid spine, are recommended to use the Aliante saddle and Bull handlebars. The Aliante saddle is waved and wide, whilst the handlebar offers 80mm of reach and a drop of 130mm.
