With their Sella Skylite Vented Carbon Saddle, Astute have sought to match comfort with performance and the result is a saddle that is comfortable from hour one to 100 yet is still lightweight and durable enough to satisfy the most fanatical racers.

The foundations of the Skylite are the lightweight carbon rails. Also built into the rails and base is the new Shock-Pad-Absorber-System (SPAS). This new patented system is based on two specific shock absorbers being placed between the base and rails. The SPAS system dramatically increases shock and vibration absorption while also eliminating any friction between the rail and the base for a whole new level of comfort.

The base is constructed from a carbon fibre reinforced nylon inner and nylon fibre soft touch outer for top-level rigidity and vibration absorption with a minimised weight penalty. The vent itself is designed to do away with the chafing or rubbing of your delicate soft tissue areas without the detrimental effects to the saddle's structural integrity that vent holes can often cause.

For the padding Astute have opted for the luxurious and futuristic Try-Density foam. This foam enhances ergonomic performance and fit by acting in a similar way to memory foam as it conforms to support your sit bones and soft tissue for a lasting feeling of comfort.

Covering the saddle is Future Microfibre. Again, yet another highly advanced material, Future Microfibre is extra-strong and resistant to abrasion while at the same time being supremely soft, breathable and waterproof. It is, in essence, the perfect saddle cover material as it enhances comfort and supports both you and the saddle.

Available in a white/grey/carbon colour scheme, the Skylite has wonderful stylings and neat little accents like the Astute logo on the nose and rear as well as the red vent bars that really make this a thing beauty. It almost seems a shame to sit on it!
