Beryl at the Rose Theatre Kingston

Quite possibly Britain's greatest ever female cyclist, Beryl Burton came from humble Yorkshire beginnings to become a two time world road race champion and five time track champion, as well as a record holder.

Beryl's true love was racing against the clock and she demonstrated this winning over 72 national individual time trial titles in her career. Dominating the scene in the 1960's and 70's, Burton was awarded an OBE in 1968 for her achievements.

To celebrate this superstar of women's cycling, Maxine Peake's portrayal of her life has been transferred onto the stage. Critically acclaimed, with rave reviews, sit back and enjoy this charming insight into Burton's life. From meeting her husband Charlie, to her rise through the ranks to become one of the most prolific sports personalities Britain has ever produced, this is a truly inspirational story.
