The Stages Cycling Shimano XTR M985 Double Power Meter Crank Arm (2nd Gen) is the ideal addition to any tenacious mountain bikers ride, giving an in-depth understanding and an immediate relay of your performance to any ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart Ready head unit.
This power meter replaces the left side crank arm of your M985 double chainring crank arms, ensuring there are no complications with the drivetrain components. In fact, it’s so easy to fit that you can do it yourself with just a few tools, which makes it ideal for riders who like to keep their bike perfectly clean after every ride.
Stages Cycling understands that sticking to a training programme means going out and battling against the elements, no matter what they are. For this reason, they’ve included their highly renowned ‘active temperature compensation’, which stops any drop or rise in temperature from affecting the accuracy of the power meter. Thanks to this, Stages boast that the Shimano XTR M980 power meter has a consistent reading of +/- 2%.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re laying down the power on the flats or spinning up a steep gradient, Stages have ensured a reading of 0 - 2500 watts, and 20 - 220 rpm - which further increases its versatility when adopting a new training programme.
The IPX7 water resistance rating further ensures the power meter is protected from the elements, whilst the tool-free battery replacement with a battery with 200+ hours of life stops you running flat when you’re out on the trails.

The next step is to check the power meter's compatibility with your frame; if the space between your crank arm and seat stay fits a 10mm allen wrench between 5cm and 12cm from the centre of your bottom bracket, this should be compatible.
