Specialized S-Works Cavendish Road Shoe
Numerous sprint victories in some of the biggest races in the world do not come by chance. The Manx Missile, Mark Cavendish demands high performance, race ready equipment to deliver him across the line first. The Specialized S-Works Cavendish Road Shoe is perfect for aspiring Cavendish's but is also used by some of the world's best climbers and sprinters.
A high performance shoe needs to be stiff and the Powerline carbon fibre sole is definitely that. Hitting 13.0 on the stiffness index scale, this is ideal for instant power delivery through to the pedals. This sole is also the lightest in the Specialized range, which keeps the overall weight of the shoe down.
Performance is all well and good but if the fit is not correct the power cannot be delivered efficiently. The inclusion of two separate Boa S2-Snap dials allow for easy, precise adjustment on the move. This dial and lace system is also replaceable using the Snap cartridge design. The heal tread is also easily replaceable, prolonging the life of the shoe.
Comfort is provided by a Body Geometry outsole and footbed. This puts the foot in the ideal position for correct knee alignment, so reducing the chances of injury and improving power transfer.
The SL footbed is new, lighter than ever and offers excellent arch support. Support is further provided by a Thermobonded Adaptive Fit upper section, which holds the ankle in place. If that level of fit was not impressive enough, the option to fit shims and other footbeds makes this a truly versatile shoe.
