Roval has honed the aerodynamic optimised rim shape in their wind tunnel so that it can power through any wind without giving you cause for concern in terms of stability. This is thanks to the box section rim. Grip should never be an issue either, with the wide internal rim profile producing a perfect tyre profile at the same time as increasing stiffness.
40mm rim depth is ideally suited for all-around riding with enough depth for superior aerodynamic performance but not too much that it is going to negatively affect your climbing.
The SCS rear hub allows for a proper chainline on short chainstay road and cyclocross bikes. The AFD1 SCS aero centre lock hub is 12mm thru-axle or QR compatible making this an ideal wheel for the muddiest cyclocross race or fast-paced ride.
