The Equip is made from 100% Yamamoto neoprene, a high quality neoprene that is usually reserved for higher end suits. Yamamoto neoprene is made using three patented materials; SCS hydrophobic coating, SCS Metal and Titainium Alpha. The combination of these materials produces a neoprene that offers low resistance through the water, high heat retention and improved moldability and comfort.
A key factor for triathletes new to open water swimming is buoyancy- a suit that is buoyant will allow you to maintain a good position in the water and will reduce muscle fatigue so that you remain fresh going into the bike and run. The Equip features 3-5mm Smoothskin neoprene panels across the rear of the suit to provide increased buoyancy to the areas where it is needed most.
The upper body, shoulders and arms of the Equip are made from thinner, 2mm thick neoprene, this allows for full range of movement and is complimented by the use of Orca's Multistretch lining which keeps the suit as supple and agile as possible.
The Equip also features Hydrostroke forearm panels that catch and grab the water during the pull phase of the stroke, increasing your power and traction through the water.
Quick transitions are catered for through the inclusion of Speed Transition rear panels to ensure easier and faster wetsuit removal. A long, easy to pull Slipstream rear zip means you are able to easily fold down the rear opening of the suit whilst on the way to the bike, further speeding up your time in transition.
The Flexiseal neck of the Equip has a wide seal skin to ensure that water is not allowed to enter the suit through the neck opening, whilst also reducing discomfort caused by chaffing.
