Mavic are known for their master wheel building and the Aksium Disc 6-Bolt model is no exception. The optimised 21mm external rim width and 17mm internal rim width add stability and rigidity whilst also widening the tyre's contact point with the road. This elevates traction without negatively effecting rolling speed.
The S6000 Aluminium rim construction provides high levels of strength and the 24 spoke count on both the front and rear wheel helps to boost impact absorption and torsional rigidity.
The FTS-L freewheel is Shimano and SRAM compatible and a Campagnolo adapter is available separately. The aluminium hub contains double sealed cartridge bearings of the incredibly tough QRM variety. These spin with low friction as well as making this wheel even more durable.
