With a 50% Lycra content, Cinquanta provides the perfect level of compression and stretch while also being wonderfully soft to the touch. In using this proprietary fabric Castelli have been able to construct the Mondiale Bib Short with only one seam. This dramatically reduces the threat of friction and chafing, making these a splendid choice for riders looking to spend long hours in the saddle.

Combining with the Cinquanta fabric is Castelli's top-of-the-range Progetto X2 Air chamois. The pad is constructed in three separate sections that work together to provide lasting support and comfort. On the top is the skin care layer, which acts to alleviate the threat of chafing by providing a soft and conforming contact point between your skin and the pad. Second is a multi-density foam layer with an infinitely variable thickness designed to target the areas where you need it the most. Finally, there is a layer of viscous perforated padding under your highly sensitive areas, which helps to relieve pressure and provide moisture wicking.

The bib straps have been designed to lie completely flat in order to avoid chafing with your jersey and the laser-cut ventilation holes allow for air flow and moisture dissipation.
