Cycle-ops

Cycle-ops

This winter has had its moments and reminded us on more than one occassion over the last few months who's boss but when the temperature drops to a point where rider safety is affected, indoor training really is the only viable option. Sure there are many brands and models on the market and each unit has its own merits but we were very impressed by the smooth running units from Cycle-ops which is why we have added this up and coming brand to our indoor trainer portfolio. The wheel deal

Mavic K10

Mavic turned the world of wheel design on its head with the introduction of the Ksyrium way back in 2000 and now as a celebration of this fact introduce the K10 their first wheel and tyre combination for 2010. The brand new Yskium obviously draws on the lessons learned during the Ksyrium's formative years and introduces new milling techniques to strategically remove material preserving reliability and strengh togeteher with a significant weight reduction. Mavic have decided to go down the integrated tyre/wheel combo with a long term plan to develop specific tyres to compliment specific wheelsets. K10 wheel packages are currently in stock with £100 slashed of the suggested selling price! Ready to roll... Click here to find out more or to place an order

Cycling in Italy with Sigma Sport - April 17th to 24th

The Allure of the Italian countryside in Springtime is hard for anyone to resist. Stunning scenery and legendary climbs cannot fail to stir the soul of any passionate cyclist and many areas of Italy are steeped in cycling tradition. Quiet roads beckon and the adventurous are rewarded with hidden treasures as you explore the surrounding region but imagine how much more enjoyable it could be with an experienced guide...

Stop wondering and book one of the limited spaces on Sigma Sport's very first foray into the 'Marche region' situated on the Adriatic coast. This may be our first organised Italian excursion, but with our very own warehouse manager Chris Beales to look after everything, we are sure you will be in good hands. Chris has 1000's of kilometers experience of the region as he worked as ride guide for Riccione Hotels a few years ago so is very familiar with the area. This is no bus 'em in and bus 'em out holiday rather an exciting opportunity to taste some of the real Italy and ensure that the best riding is accompanied by little known eateries and watering holes...

Accommodation at the Hotel Alexander is first rate and has been experienced by several members of our staff already. Some of them can be quite fussy so if it has their seal of approval you can be sure of no worries there...

Great value!

The cost is only 495.00 Euros for 1 week half board based on twin room accomodation. Single suplement 70 Euros. Daily Breakfast and a Grand Buffet are included, as is laundry and secure bike storage with workshop facilities. Flights and transfers are not included but prices are very reasonable.

Getting there...

Although there are several airports serving the surrounding regions adjacent to Hotel Alexander we advise prospective visitors to fly to Bologna as the hotel offers free transportation from and to this busy airport.

Clients are advised to look at seat availability on British Airways flights BA2560 which leaves Gatwick at 08.45 on April 17th and is expected to arrive in Bologna at 11.50

Travellers can also consider Flight number BA2562 from Gatwick to Bologna which leaves at 14.55 on April 17th and is expected to arrive at 18.00hrs

There are three British airways return flights from Bologna to Gatwick on the 24th of April from Bologna at 07.25 (BA2259) , 13.40 (BA2561) and 19.55 (BA2563) more details on their website www.britishairways.com

You can also make your own travel arrangements if these suggested times do not suit, flights are also available to Rimini, Forli and Ancona airports which are all reasonably close by. The hotel can quote for any individual transer requirements.
