After having my 2011 Allez (for which i wrote the other review on this site) stolen at the start of January i specified with my insurance company that i wanted to deal with Sigma and the Specialized concept store in Kingston again. This was due to the fantastic level of service i have received every time i have been to the stores. Again the team were very helpful in the process of sorting the order for my new bike. So the bike itself.
I have now done about 60 miles and the 2012 model is largely the same as last years. The frame design is slightly different and a little firmer but largely the bike remains the same. The thumb shifters are still impossible to reach from the hood for anyone, however i have noticed through looking at other bikes this seems to be standard across other manufacturers as well. It is completely bizarre. The shimano groupset is lovely and changing is very smooth.
The tyres are slightly better than last years model which helps as the seat has not been changed and is not the comfiest.
For the price i really dont think you can beat this bike, it would cost a lot more to upgrade significantly in all areas and it is great for my daily commute and long weekend rides.
Again i cant recommend using Sigma and Specialized Concept store in Kingston enough, it is a great team who are always more than happy to help and their after purchase care is fantastic. they still offer a free six week check and a free 12 month check plus the replacement of any faulty parts for free! trumps Evans any day.
